Phil_MazurikTell us your name, age and where you live.

My name is Phillip Mazurik, I am 20 years old, and I am from Spokane, WA

How did you get interested in audio engineering and music production?

I first got interested in Audio Production shortly after I started going to concerts and really getting into making music.

Where are you studying audio now and what will you diploma/degree be in?

I am studying at Spokane Falls Community College to get an Associate’s degree in Audio Technology.

What’s the hardest thing about music production and engineering?

The hardest part about engineering is having patience when working with bands or with other engineers. Also, when your mix just doesn’t seem to be going right, to stay motivated and get the results I am looking for.

What’s the most fun thing?

The most fun thing is definitely mixing in the school’s studio on the D-Command control surface.

What are your plans after graduation?

After I graduate, I plan on starting a home studio with one of my classmates; and also to get better at video production so I can have a multipurpose studio.

Anything else you would like to add?

Anyone who is thinking about going to Audio engineering school, I definitely recommend it. But do some research on the school and, if you can, talk to some studios around town and see if you can sit in on some sessions to see if it is something that you really want to do.
