Mix Trick Friday: Drum Replacement, Solid Bass Foundation and Parallel Vocal Effects
Happy Friday everyone, and what a glorious day it is to be still stuck in the studio with too much to do!
If you’re quaranfreaked out and talking to your microphones like they’re your drinking buddies (maybe that’s just me…), you’ll enjoy a welcome break from your insanity by watching another lesson from this week’s mix stream.
We’re picking back up from last week and still working on “Tomorrow” by 3 Parts Dead.
One of the biggest things I use in this mix is parallel processing. I believe it’s such a crucial part of making great mixes that I include my Parallel Processing Masterclass for free with my Mixing With 5 Plug-ins course.
Check the Youtube video for some examples of what you can achieve with parallel processing, and if you’re interested in learning more and haven’t taken the Mixing With 5 Plug-ins course yet, check it out here.
This week’s recap shows you:
- The effects of drum replacement to clean up your drums
- How to make the bass a solid foundation in your mix
- How to use parallel processing on vocal effects
and lastly, Hardcore Music Studio’s Jordan Valeriote’s guitar mixing chain I swiped from him. Learn more about his free Full-Stack Producer web series that shows you what it takes to succeed in the audio industry here.
All three of his videos are up so you can binge-watch them this weekend to set yourself up for what you need to do to get to the next level in the industry.
Have a great weekend!
