Why You’re Too Close to Your Song to Mix It Yourself

I hate producing myself.

Absolutely loathe it.

I admire guys like Graham over at The Recording Revolution who self-produce, record, mix and master their own music.

I mean, I could. It’s just that I have this mental road block when it comes to my own music.

When you self-produce you need to wear all the hats and do all of the jobs.

You need to be pressing record and playing, mixing AND mastering.

It can get overwhelming.

Don’t get me wrong. I really like engineering. But I also love hearing what other engineers can do with my music.
