Studio Walls Closing In? You’re Not Alone
We’re about six months into the COVID-crisis and you may feel exhausted in a way that you’ve never felt before.
The urge to escape is increasing in intensity, but there’s nowhere to go when the problem is global.
If you’re feeling like this, know that you’re not alone.
Dr. Aisha Ahmad, an international security professor at UTSC wrote about the six-month mark of a crisis in a recent Twitter thread, saying that although “we have all adjusted to this “new normal”, but might now feel like we’re running out of steam…How can we keep going?”
We keep going, in the words of WALK THE MOON, by putting “one foot in front of the other.”
Because why? Because the opposite is despair.
Because, and here’s Dr. Ahmad again, “there are things we have to do. Work. Teach. Cook. Exercise. But just don’t expect to be sparklingly happy or wildly creative in the middle of your wall. Right now, if you can meet your obligations and be kind to your loved ones, you get an A+”
The great thing about being a cartoon online is that I can always be sparklingly happy and wildly creative. That’s just the universe I was drawn to.
But at the same time, I’m trying my best to be an A+ teacher and my obligation today is to you.
If you need a distraction and want a quick escape in the form of a fun-filled discussion about music production, I hope you’ll join me and Jordan Valeriote on Facebook and Youtube Live today at 4:30 PM PT.
Hope to see you then!
