Ignore the Vocals, Destroy the Mix
When you’re mixing, it’s easy to jump from one thing to another.
You’ll EQ the kick drum, add compression to the rhythm guitar, jump over to the keyboard reverb etc…
However much you love jumping around your mix, there’s one thing you absolutely must focus on.
It’s the one element that will make or break your mix…
And you want to be sure not to ignore it while you’re jumping around tweaking everything else.
What do you think it is?
The vocals. Of course.
If you want to get better sounding vocals in your home studio, I’d love to introduce you to my friend Rob from Musician on a Mission. Rob has perfected the art of recording and mixing vocals to a pro level in the home studio – even with budget gear.
Here’s an overview of the workshop:
- Video 1 – 6 Steps to Impressive, Mix-Ready Vocals
- Video 2 – EQ & Compression Secrets
- Video 3 – Superior Effects & Mixing Backing Vocals
This free training series will show you the exact steps you need to take to record and mix studio-level vocals at home.
The workshop already has over 500 comments from his students thanking him for his insightful and in-depth knowledge, so I’m excited to introduce you to someone with so much teaching experience.
But remember he is only opening up these free videos to you for being an Audio Issues subscriber.
If you’ve been a subscriber for a while, you know that I try to help you out as much as I can with the mixes and productions you’re doing in the home studio. You don’t want to miss these videos if you’re looking for new ways to improve your vocal sound.
