How to Mix Hip-Hop Beats and Vocals
Mixing hip-hop is something that’s made for the home recording studio.
It’s mostly electronic so you can get away with using loops and synths in the box. No need for a big recording studio to track drums or anything like that.
You just need a vocal recording setup in your bedroom studio and you’re up and running. I bet it’s a pretty sweet situation to have. At least you don’t have to worry too much about complicated recording techniques, but there’s still the issue of mixing them beats that’s a struggle.
To be with rap sessions to be an expert.
Matthew Weiss over at the Pro Audio Files is an expert, and he’s got some cool articles on hip-hop mixing right here:
Go check out those articles if you’re interested in hip-hop mixing. I’ll wait here, but I got a little announcement for you at the end of this post.
